Description Areas of application of glycerol:

Crude glycerol, which is obtained in the production of biodiesel or in other oleochemical processes, is used as further raw materials. Crude glycerin consists primarily of glycerol and water and also contains raw material and process-related substances, the type and concentration of which depend on the treatment process used by the raw material suppliers.

Typical components of crude glycerin are:

  • glycerol
  • water
  • Inorganic salts (e.g. potassium chloride/sulfate, sodium chloride)
  • Organic salts and fatty acid esters (MONG)
